History of Lake Kitchawan

According to the Lake Kitchawan Association By Laws:
"Organized August 1928, for the welfare and protection of the property owners at Lake Kitchawan Park and Grove, Town of Lewisboro, New York. Incorporated in July 1932 in the State of New York."
We will attempt to fill in some of the history of our great community here so that its legacy will be preserved for future generations.

There are some excellent books about the early America, the Hudson Valley Region and Lewisboro. Long before the Lake Kitchawan Association came about, there is much rich history, which we will add here soon! We will attempt to uncover some of the tales about the Leatherman, J.P. Morgan and more. We want to show how their lives intermingled with our neighborhood.
