Lake Kitchawan Association
Honor Roll
June 27th, 2011
Dear Members of Lake Kitchawan Association,
My deepest thanks to all of you that contributed so generously to help us refurbish the Lake Kitchawan Honor Roll. We exceeded our monetary goal and the remainder of the moneys collected will be set aside for further maintanence of this important landmark in our community. I also want to thank those that brought some of the missing names from our list of Lake Kitchawan Association Members that we honor for being Veterans.
I can not be certain if all the original names that were missing have been restored, and I am sure that others will come forward and new LKA members will serve in our nation's military in the years to come. So there will be a few blank name plates as place holders for these. If any Lake Kitchawan Assocation Member that should be on the Honor Roll missed the deadline, do not hesitate to contact me. The order for the engravings is being placed now & I will update the Association as soon as we are sent an acceptable sample of the work. Once the full order begins production I will post a date for the re-dedication ceremony.
I also would like to thank Heidi who sent in an old photo of the LKA honor roll. You can click here, scroll down or on the little picture for a larger picture.
Thank you for honoring our Veterans,
-Todd Norman, Vice President

Dear Members of Lake Kitchawan Association,
Our community is honored to have many members that have served or are serving in our country's armed forces. We recognized this many years ago with a plaque set front and center in our picnic area. Due to years of wear & tear, this tribute has became less than the honor that these brave men and women deserve.
We need to refurbish and update the Honor Roll for the members of Lake Kitchawan Association now. It is important to welcome home our veterans as the combat operations in Iraq have officially ended. And to show our continued support for those who are still serving in Afghanistan and abroad. The veterans of our community who have served in years past, they also deserve our renewed gratitude. We also should never forget those who gave their lives for our country.
We have compiled a list of the names we have honored, and a few new names that we need to add to this Honor Roll. The Lake Kitchawan Association needs your help to remember those of our community who have served in the United States Military. Below is a list of the names we have, but we encourage you to help us complete our records and avoid omitting anyone we missed.

We also ask for your support to help pay for a new plaque. Having a quality plaque will enhance the beauty of our grounds. Please give what you can to help us make our goal of $600 by summer of 2011 so that we can have the plaque made and ready for a rededication ceremony in the fall of 2011. Any overage amount will go to refurbishing the stone edifice for the plaque and the adjacent flag pole.

We have already started collecting donations for this project. You can show your support by sending LKA a monetary contribution by check. Or in person at any of our board meetings or other community events. This money is set aside, specifically directed for this purpose of refurbishing the Kitchawan Honor Roll plaque. Any overage will go towards future maintenance of the plaque, the stone edifice to which it is attached & the adjacent flag pole.

This is how our Honor Roll looks now. We hope your donations will help us renew it & help honor Lake Kitchawan Association members that have served in the military.

If any one can provide information as to when this may have been taken and who the 2 (girl scouts?) are, it would be much appreciated.

The original Lake Kitchawan Assocation Honor Roll had 2 columns of broad plates embossed with the names of Veterans in our community. Each column had perhaps 30 rows, for a possible 60 names at the time this photo was taken. The plaque that we have today has 4 columns and 17 rows with roughly 17 names missing. The new plaque will have 4 Rows and 15 columns with a total of 68 names. We have a similar number of names, although we have added LKA members of more contemporary combat operations. So any assistance you can lend is appreciated.
